  Mentors... Are More than just a "Teacher"

Ron Borden ("The Ultimate Leader")

Mr. Borden works in B & D and is the lead person for FIRST at Bausch and Lomb.
Why I joined the team? "I believe all students can, if given a chance, succeed in their dreams."

Mr. Jardine is a Bausch & Lomb employee. His hobbies are playing and watching sports. He also likes to listen to music.
Why did I join the team? "I joined the team to continue to experience this thing called FIRST.".

Bill Scarbough (Mechanical Team)

Mr. Scarbough is a professor at RIT.
Why did I join the team? "I wanted to help students learn about engineering. My daughter is a mentor too!"

Mike Greene (Multimedia Team)Mr. Greene is a Systems Analyst with the RD&E department.
Why did I join the team?" I thought it was an excellent opportunity to expose high school students to Science and Technology.

Her hobbies are watching movies, reading and having fun.
Why did I join the team? " I've always been involved in a team atmosphere and I thought it would be fun to be a mentor for a change."

Amy Rhault (Mechanical)

Amy Rhault is a college student who is currently attending Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester.
Why did I join the team? "I enjoyed competing in the Science Olympiad when I was in in high school and I wanted to give out by helping other high school students succeed in competition as well."

Robert Winterkorn (Multimedia Teams)

Mr. Winterkorn is a research technician at U of R and an independent web designer.
Why I joined the team? "It allows me to share some of my knowledge with young and talented individuals, allowing them to be creative and express themselves. "

Mr.Wirth is a student teacher from School Without Walls. His hobbies are playing with his four year old daughter and learning. He is currently attending St. John Fisher College.
Why did I join the team? "I joined the team because I am a student teacher and I hope to help."

Janet is a teacher from School Without Walls.
Her hobbies are hiking, biking, playing conga drums, reading and traveling.
Why I joined the team? "I have been inspired by the students on the team. "

Ken is a teacher from School Without Walls. His hobbies are reading and traveling.(We call our teachers by their first names at School Without Walls)
Why I joined the team? "To help students have the opportunity to be on a robotics team."
